Technology
IRT is the fastest and most accurate biometric measurement that human beings have. The technology has positioned itself at the forefront of the biometric world in a relatively short period of time. This system uses the unique features of the Iris itself to find one person out of a large number of people with extremely high probability, making IRT the ultimate biometric solution.
The iris is basically the elastic, pigmented, connective tissue that controls the pupil. The iris has a unique random texture pattern resulting in a unique IrisPrint™ that can be searched in real-time. It is the only internal human organ visible from the outside and is protected by the cornea; this protection keeps the iris from wearing out over time and maintains its stability over a human being's lifetime.
IRT works in three stages:
- Acquires a fine image (picture) of the iris using approved iris recognition cameras.
- Generates the IrisPrint™.
- Searches for a match of the generated IrisPrint™ in the stored IrisPrint™ database.
