PalmVenture is a "seed and growth" unit, it is the operations branch of VentureSkies.   We are here to actively work with you, helping to turn your ideas into turnover.

With our experience we can help you to set your business idea into the right context - with the resources you need.

This includes:

• technical, strategic, legal and administrative support
• the choice and creation of the company
• accessing venture capital
• the implementation of international distribution channels
• the handling of the first projects or
• the creation of alliances.

PalmVenture does all the necessary tasks involved in company formation.  There are a lot of variations possible, depending on the requirements of your product.  During the seed phase it might even be advantageous to market within and through VentureSkies until a significant turnover is achieved (see the reference for SkyRadar), based on IP or Patent license agreements.  VentureSkies has been structured to provide sales, marketing services and administrative support to promote rapid growth at startup. Alternatively or as a second step a Ltd, Public Company, plc or FZE can be created.  The choice will depend on what is best suited to the business goals.

The company creation has many, often non-obvious, implications.  Firstly there are the legal requirements which differ significantly from region to region.  For instance Switzerland has a favorable system for e-Commerce businesses while for stem-cell research or biotechnolology, California can’t be beaten.

We also consider the community aspect.  Where is the right environment where you can find a hub of like thinking individuals, companies or universities that might cooperate, buy from or merge with you?  Silicon Valley, the southern Rhine valley, Sophia-Antipolis or Internet City in Dubai are good examples of an ever sustaining environment of exchange and inspiration.

Other aspects to consider are subsidies available, like those of the European Community’s Research Frameworks or the proximity to the customers, eg in London for financial services, Detroit, Stuttgart or Tanger Free-port for automotive technologies.

Finally it is important to consider tax and duty.  In this respect regions such as Luxembourg and the UAE show their strong side.

Once a formula for operations has been agreed and put in place the necessary international distribution channels are set up.  This can vary from eCommerce solutions to local representation.

PalmVenture can carry out all financial, strategic, legal and administrative support required to move from seed to growth.  Once the project is live we can jointly plan growth or exit scenarios.  There are multiple options - from hiring good management and sales staff (never confuse good inventors with good managers!) to continue the operation or getting equity or venture capital for mergers to selling or making an initial public offering of the company....
